A new Graduate Surveyor has joined the Hurstwood team at their Manchester office.
Laura Wilbourn, 24, is originally from Doncaster and has a Master’s Degree in Urban Regeneration from Sheffield Hallam University. Laura is an enthusiastic and motivated individual, and has experience in general practice surveying through to environmental surveying.
Whilst working at an environmental surveying firm, Laura was tasked with providing professional opinions in a number of key areas including contaminated land and flood risk, with their impacts on all forms of real estate. She then managed to secure a position as a property researcher, gathering lease information and rental comparables for surveyors, in order to help them with business rates appeals.
In addition, Laura has also recently undertaken unpaid work experience at both CBRE and ASK Property Developments, as it is her ambition to become a Chartered Surveyor.
Now employed as a Graduate Surveyor at Hurstwood Holdings, Laura’s main duties will include negotiating commercial and residential lettings across the 100 site portfolio. In addition, she will also be overseeing development schemes currently under construction including the Boars Head scheme in Newchurch, the 40 apartment Waterfront scheme at Knott End-On-Sea and the refurbishment of Rochdale Post Office.
Speaking of the news, Laura said: “I am absolutely delighted to have joined the Hurstwood team. As a career, I know the property market has the potential to be interesting, challenging and ever-changing, and I will do everything I can to help the company become even more successful in the future.”
