Food bank and distribution centre relocation to Hardmans Business Centre, Rawtenstall.
The Raft Foundation is delighted to announce that Hurstwood has come to the rescue and generously offered to provide free of charge and for 12 months accommodation at Hardmans Business Centre for the foodbank store which as from 4th August. The foodbank store was formerly located at Haslingden Market.
Negotiations between Nicola Johnstone of Hurstwood and Mark Stapleton of The Raft Foundation have resulted in a sustainable base upon which The Raft Foundation can provide its range of services to the Rossendale community including its present Food Bank service.
Vice Chair of The Raft Foundation – Mark Stapleton
“The generosity and support of Hurstwood Chairman, Stephen Ashworth and the senior management team of Hurstwood is overwhelming and has now provided a base on which to develop and deliver long term sustainable services to the Rossendale community.
Working with Hurstwood and developing continuing links within the Rossendale business community with many who already provide us with incredible support, we believe is an essential process in building sustainable development and support systems within Rossendale for the benefit of the whole community.
Our work equally relies on strong links with faith/community groups, statutory bodies as well as an incredible colleague / volunteer network across the whole of Rossendale.
On behalf of all those who support or benefit from The Raft Foundation we would like to thank Stephen Ashworth and Hurstwood for their generous gift.
Stephen Ashworth – Chairman, Hurstwood
“We are delighted to offer our support to a Rossendale based organisation and wish them every success in their continued efforts. Being founded in Rossendale, the work done by Raft has a deeper resonance as the Company’s home is and will always remain in the Valley”
Nicola Johnstone, Hurstwood added, “being from and living in Rossendale, I am pleased to be in a position to support the Raft Foundation and the work they do. Both Hurstwood and myself echo and champion the values and methods by which The Raft Foundation seeks to support those in need within our community.”
