Hurstwood has growing interest in its newly-acquired property in the centre of Worksop.
Crown House on Newcastle Avenue, which until two years ago housed the Department of Health and Social Security, is now being refurbished after being bought by Manchester-based Hurstwood in 2010.
The company is in talks with two businesses looking to take the office space and a retailer interested in one of the units.
The work, which is due to be completed later this month, will transform Crown House into circa 6,000 sqft of retail space on the ground floor, with office space on the two floors above forming approximately 10,200 sqft. It includes the installation of new lift system and a complete refurbishment throughout.
Crown House is in an excellent location on the edge of the town’s main shopping area and the office space will bring a mix that’s not available anywhere else in the town centre, says Ashley Loofe, Hurstwood Graduate Surveyor.
Although the work isn’t yet complete we have had interest from a number of companies looking to take space there and we are very please with the level of interest that we’ve been able to generate.
Crown House is something of a landmark site for the people of the town as, prior to the construction of the current property in 1970, the site served as the town’s cinema.
