Hurstwood Sales Director Mark Carling comments on plans for a new bus station in Rawtenstall:
Hurstwood has a strong connection with Rossendale, the company was founded there and we still have a large number of properties in the borough. We are always pleased to hear about investment in the Rossendale Valley, so confirmation from Lancashire County Council that a new bus station for Rawtenstall has been included in the Local Transport Plan at a cost of £3.5 million is very welcome news.
Rossendale is the only borough in Lancashire without any rail connections and Rawtenstall, therefore, needs to have a good quality bus station in the town centre. The existing station layout would benefit from a new design and the buildings are long overdue an overhaul.
